Super Agent X by Jim Steranko

I wanna see more of Steranko's presentation concept to the comic world, but I can't find anything.  Help a brother out here if those boards he's sitting in front of (or anything else) is somewhere in the world

  1. I haven't seen much more than this. There was a color version of the photo in the 2007 Steranko Calendar, and another photo from the same session shows a grinning Steranko with the originals from "The Tribunal" in Strange Tales, indicating he was already at Marvel.

It was mentioned that this, along with his other early comic book presentation art would appear in the much-delayed Hypertype book.

It can be frustrating to be a Steranko fan, can't it?

  3. Thanks, I hadn't seen that splash page. And I didn't know he was an android of some kind. He might've just as well been called Weapon X.

  4. There was one of those PBS documentaries about comic books on last year, and it had commentary by Steranko and it also showed the Paramount Super Agent X drawing in full color. Also, I believe some of the art in STERANKO PORTFOLIO ONE was from Super Agent X.

  5. This isn't the "SpyMan" comic concept that saw print as three issues in about 1967, is it? There were 3 issues by Sternako before the publisher gave up.

  6. I'm not a real expert (see Tony Robertson's Drawings of Steranko) but, no, Super Agent X was a great concept that never was. If you search Spyman on here, you'll see Steranko's small art contribution
